“How can we create the expectation in society, government and business that all IT staff should be members of an accredited, professional body?”
This was a key question discussed by members and the policy team at a virtual roundtable this week - the first step in an organisation-wide conversation about how BCS renews its focus on professionalism, the benefits of membership and the socio-economic value of following universal standards in ethics and competence.
The policy team will be summarising the findings this month before moving the debate forward at board level, and creating the opportunity for contributions and views to be shared by all members. The results will inform changes across our external and internal communications.
