this needs more investigation about what a ‘portfolio’ means and what is ‘appropriate’
Also what is measured to assess success (with what consequences) and what is measured to help people be successful.

This CR is just about the first stage - "Consulting Member Groups". That is, another exercise like this. This CR is not about introduction. Correct?
Such Consultation may or may not take the proposal forward.

1. there is still confusion over the term "Member Group" - is this what was previously a "Branch" or is this wider than that?
2. Given its Friday Night and 21:15 I have to read the Suggestion 3 times before it started to make sense, I keep forgetting that you use the term 'portfolio' when us commoners use 'role"
3. What metrics are you suggesting? Length of service? Typing errors in AGM and meeting minutes?
4. What will these metrics be used for?

Concern that the 'portfolio' or 'roles' of mandatory positions are already quite expansive and hugely challenging to try to attract members to volunteer for. They will look at metrics and ask 'what's in that for me'? That is something we really need to get better at communicating.
